North Forsyth snaps losing streak

COAL MOUNTAIN -- North Forsyth snapped its six-game losing streak with a nail-biting 14-13 win over Johns Creek Friday night in Region 6-AAAAAA.<br /> <br /> The Raiders (1-6, 1-5 Region 6-AAAAAA) got a defensive stand in the final minute stopping the Gladiators (0-7, 0-6) on a 4th-and-5 with 33 seconds left in the game.<br /> <br /> North Forsyth never trailed taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on an 11-yard touchdown by Jesus Torres. Johns Creek cut the lead to 7-6 early in the second quarter but Torres blocked the extra point attempt to preserve the slim lead.<br /> <br /> The Raiders took a 14-6 into halftime after lance McGonigle scored on a 12-yard run. Jacob Whitten converted both extra points for North Forsyth.<br /> <br /> The Gladiators cut the lead to 14-13 with 11:14 left in the fourth quarter but neither team could get much going after that.<br /> <br /> Torres finished with 91-yards rushing and jamal davenport added 77-yards rushing for the Raiders.
