Suspect gives drug agent wrong name, faces additional charges

GAINESVILLE - A man arrested in Lula earlier in the week on heroin trafficking charges was in the country illegally, and he's now facing more charges.<br /> <br /> Hall County drug agents said Mateo Pineda-Perez, 49, was arrested Wednesday night and booked under the name Antonio Arellano Torres. Agents learned his true identity Thursday, according to a press statement from Lt. Scott Ware of the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad. <br /> <br /> Authorities one kilo worth of heroin in the suspect's Whitehall Road residence Wednesday, worth an estimated $400,000, according to Ware. Agents also confiscated three weapons. <i>(See link to previous story below.)</i><br /> <br /> Pineda-Perez has been charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, three counts of possession of a firearm duuring the commission of a crime and trafficking in opiates.<br /> <br /> Pineda-Perez has also been placed under an immigration hold.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
