Cyclist hit by car on Atlanta Hwy.

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a Thursday morning traffic accident on Atlanta Highway in the Chicopee area that sent a bicyclist to the hospital.<br /> <br /> Authorities responded to the scene around 7:15 a.m., according to Sgt. G.R. Harper with the GSP. He said a female driver hit the cyclist from behind just south of West Park Drive. The cyclist was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.<br /> <br /> The southbound lane of Atlanta Highway remained closed for a good portion of Thursday morning's rush hour.<br /> <br /> Names in the accident have not yet been released.<br /> <br /> Charges are pending, according to Harper.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
