Volleyball: Rough night for area teams in opening round

Other than East Hall and North Hall, Buford was the only other area volleyball team to advance Wednesday in the first round of the state playoffs.<br /> <br /> Buford knocked off West Laurens 3-0 in Class AAAA. Chestatee, however, fell to Veterans 3-0 in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs.<br /> <br /> In Class AAA, West Hall, Lumpkin County, Jefferson, and Jackson County all fell in the opening round.<br /> <br /> The Lady Spartans lost 3-0 to Sonoraville while the Lady Indians lost 3-0 to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe. Jefferson lost 3-0 to Blessed Trinity 3-0 and Jackson County lost 3-0 to Westminster.<br />
