Athens-Clarke County to allow Sunday voting

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections has approved of Sunday voting ahead of the Nov. 4 general election.<br /> <br /> The Athens Banner-Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/1tBE2Pu ) the board voted Tuesday to allow the county's elections headquarters in downtown Athens to be open to voters Oct. 26 between 1 and 5 p.m.<br /> <br /> Elections Supervisor Gail Schrader has said Sunday voting was expected to cost the county about $1,000 in staff time.<br /> <br /> Officials in several other Georgia counties including DeKalb, Floyd and Chatham, have also approved of Sunday voting.
