Train hits car on White Sulphur Road tracks; no injuries

GAINESVILLE - No one was injured when a passenger vehicle was hit by a train on the tracks at White Sulphur Road and Crescent Drive Wednesday morning.<br /> <br /> Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said the vehicle became stuck on the tracks around 7:30 a.m. An AMTRAK train was unable to stop and struck the vehicle.<br /> <br /> Holbrook said the driver of the vehicle did not get out of the car when it became stuck, but the person surprisingly did not suffer injuries in the collision.<br /> <br /> Traffic in the area was blocked for about an hour while the wreck was cleared.
