Buford runs over Chestatee, 54-7

GAINESVILLE -- Buford took little time in dismantling Chestatee on Friday, scoring on their first two offensive plays en route to a 54-7 win in Gainesville.<br /> <br /> Martin Mangram and Joshua Thomas broke through for touchdown runs, as the Wolves ran two first quarter plays but led 13-0.<br /> <br /> No. 1-ranked Buford (5-0, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) finished with 384 yards rushing, while holding the War Eagles (1-4, 0-2) to 51 total yards. Joshua Thomas had two carries for 140 yards and two scores, while Xavier Gantt rushed four times for 122 yards and two touchdowns -- his first coming on a 77-yard run in the second quarter.<br /> <br /> Chestatee's Marvin Rosario notched the War Eagles' lone score, returning a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown.<br /> <br /> Brett Shepherd also had a rushing touchdown for Buford, while Luke Humphrey completed a touchdown pass to Avery Turner and Mic Roof completed a scoring pass to Matthew Parker.<br /> <br /> Buford will play host to North Hall next week.<br /> <br /> Chestatee travels to face Madison County next week.
