With a contribution from the Community Helping Place and the Sunrise Rotary's financial match of $4,255, the project income amount totaled $8,802.
The $8,802 was used to purchase a Cavitron and High Speed Handpieces for the Free Dental Clinic, which is administered and operated by the Community Helping Place of Dahlonega. The Free Dental Clinic provides dental care, hygiene and education for the underserved of Lumpkin County. Approximately 850 Lumpkin County residents fall below the Federal Poverty Threshold and are eligible to receive service from the Clinic.
In addition to the fundraising efforts, 40 Rotarians actively participated in the service project. Members helped with the installation of the cabinets and equipment, as well as architectural design for the treatment rooms.
