Alleged chicken thief arrested

JEFFERSON - A Gainesville man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing more than $500 worth of chicken from a Pendergrass poultry plant.

49-year-old Martin Delgado-Elias allegedly took the poultry in small quantities using a backpack and leaving the plant.

Delgado-Elias was charged with misdemeanor theft by taking and is out of jail on bond.
