Fair St. 3rd-grader to receive award from President Carter

GAINESVILLE - Linda Martinez, a Fair Street International Baccalaureate third-grade student, is being honored by former President Jimmy Carter Saturday in Plains.<br /> <br /> Linda is the third-place winner in a contest sponsored by the Peanut Institute and the Jimmy Carter NHS Education Program. There were 12,370 entries in the contest open to grades K-12.<br /> <br /> The contest was for art work that represented the theme: "Peanuts: Our World in a Nutshell."<br /> <br /> Linda and her parents will travel with Art instructor Tracy Troutman to Plains where Carter will present the award.<br />
