Volleyball: Jefferson finishes third in 6-AA regular season

NORCROSS -- The Jefferson girls volleyball came into Tuesday night's final Area 6-AA quad-match at The Wesleyan School with a chance to climb into the second spot in the area.

But the Lady Dragons, who were in third place before Tuesday's action, finished third after dropping another close match to second place Greater Atlanta Christian.

Jefferson lost 25-10, 25-16 to No. 1 ranked and top seed Wesleyan and then fell to third-ranked GAC 25-16, 25-23 in the second match. They solidified the third spot with a 25-12, 25-11 win over Rabun County.

Abby Wood had 12 kills and 18 digs to pace Jefferson. Madison Corbett had 19 assists and Paige Watson 18 assists for the Lady Dragons (27-9, 2-4 Area 6-AA).

Grace Williamson had 10 kills for Jefferson.
