WALNUT GROVE -- Stephens County charged out of a one-point halftime lead to run past Walnut Grove 41-20 on Friday night in Walnut Grove.

The Indians used big special teams play and a defensive score to help pull away after the interval, as Mason Long's deep kickoff return set up a short scoring run before Kenneth Brock scooped up a Walnut Grove fumble and returned it for a touchdown. The scores turned a 7-6 lead into a 21-6 advantage.

Jai Brown helped lead the Indians with 74 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 11 carries.

Stephens County (3-1, 1-0 Region 8-AAAA) will travel to face Chestatee next Friday.
