Lewis leads Panthers to 8-AAA win over rival East Jackson

COMMERCE -- Jacob Lewis threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 111 yards and one touchdown to lead Jackson County to a 38-6 win over East Jackson Friday in both teams' Region 8-AAA opener.

Lewis accounted for the Panthers first three scores with a 6-yard run and then a pair of TD passes, a 41-yarder to Xavier Harper and a 10-yard strike to Layson Giles for a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Malik Tucker added a 7-yard TD run and Luis Sanchez drilled a 28-yard field goal to give Jackson County a 31-0 halftime lead. Tucker would finish with 53 yards on 14 carries for the Panthers (1-3, 1-0 Region 8-AAA).

Lewis would get going again in the third quarter connecting with Ben Brissy on a 14-yard TD pass for a 38-0 lead.

East Jackson (1-3, 0-1) scored on late touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
