BLAIRSVILLE - Charges are pending against a former Florida police officer who is believed to have shot and killed his daughter in northeast Georgia Sunday morning.

A report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution said 80-year-old Frank Raymond Miller was arrested after a SWAT standoff with Union County and Fannin County authorities.

The shootings are believed to have happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Union County Sheriff Mack Mason told the newspaper that the stand-off lasted about three hours. He said SWAT team members and deputies entered the house on Miller Cove Road around 6 a.m. Mason said officers had to Tase Miller to subdue him.

Miller's 59-year-old daughter was found dead inside the home; she had been shot multiple times, according to authorities. Miller is also believed to have shot his 19-year-old great-grandson in the leg.

Charges were pending Sunday against Miller, who Mason said is a retired Florida police officer.
