A native of Ontario, Canada, DeWaal last served as a key administrator with Academia Los Pinares in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, a position he held for nearly four years. Prior to that, DeWaal spent 25 years as an educator with the Kalamazoo Christian School Association in Michigan.
DeWaal replaces Wade Pearce, who helped found Eagle Ranch School in 2001. Pearce recently joined Hall County Schools and is serving as principal of Chestnut Mountain Elementary School.
DeWaal, and his wife Sharon, relocated from Honduras to Georgia this summer. The couple has five grown children.
