First Presbyterian Local Mission Expo set for this weekend

GAINEVILLE - The Cody Marlowe Band will open First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville's first Local Mission Expo Friday, Aug. 23, with a free concert at 7 p.m. in the Field of Dreams behind the church on South Enota Avenue.<br /> <br /> The two-day expo focuses on service to the more than 15 local community organizations the church supports with its budget and with volunteers in agency programs.<br /> <br /> During the two-hour concert Friday evening, church volunteers will share their experiences working in the agency programs. Saturday morning the church will host a free pancake breakfast in Swetenburg Hall where the community service organizations will have representatives outlining their needs including projects requiring service that day.
