Softball: Daniels, Deep lead Lady Wolves to big wins

DAHLONEGA -- Class AA No. 1 Buford won a pair of tough games Saturday in girls softball action at the University of North Georgia.

The Lady Wolves used a 10-run third inning en route to a 10-5 win over Walnut Grove and then rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 3-2 win over Greenbrier.

Tessa Daniels got the win against Walnut Grove allowing three runs on five hits while fanning five. Bria Bush got the win against Greenbrier scattering five hits and allowing one earned run and striking out six.

Junior Jordan Deep got the game-winning hit against Greenbrier with a two-out, two-run double scoring Sydney Stavro and Niki Cook.

In the big innings against Walnut Grove, Daniels had a two-RBI double and senior Morgan Walters followed with a two-run home run to blow the game open. Stavro had three hits for Buford.
