CLEVELAND - A White County home was damaged as a result of fire Monday night.

Ana Newberry, White County Fire Department spokeswoman, said units were dispatched at 11 p.m. to 5302 Highway 115 east of Cleveland.

The blaze was in the basement of the building.

White County Fire Investigator Robi Wilkins was called to investigate and said it appears an old box fan may have contributed to this fire. The homeowner is waiting for their insurance agent and investigator to make a further determination.

"Firefighters knocked this fire out quickly," Newberry said."It could have very easily burned through the basement door into the 'living' quarters and destroyed the remainder of the home."

One person was at home of the fire, but no one was injured, Newberry said.
