Red Cross hosting annual annual Don Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament Aug. 26

GAINESVILLE - The Northeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its 9th Annual Don Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 26th, at the Polo Golf and Country Club in Cumming. This tournament is the only fundraising event the chapter holds each year. All proceeds of the golf tournament will support the Northeast Georgia Chapter's humanitarian and disaster service efforts. <br /> <br /> For information on sponsorship opportunities and other information, call the chapter office in Gainesville at 770-532-8453.<br /> <br /> The Northeast Georgia Chapter serves Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Hall, Habersham, Lumpkin, Pickens, Rabun, Towns, Union, and White counties. <br /> <br /> Don Gordon was the Chairman of the Board of Dawson County's United Community Bank prior to retiring in July of 2004. Gordon was also a longtime supporter and volunteer for the American Red Cross. He was set to become the Chairman of the Board for the Northeast Georgia Chapter prior to his death at the age of 62, just weeks after his retirement.
