DALLAS (AP) -- Four people have been killed and four wounded in a pair of Dallas-area shootings and the suspected gunman is in custody.

DeSoto police Cpl. Melissa Franks says charges are pending Thursday against Erbie Bowser. She has no details about the suspect who was caught in DeSoto, about 10 miles south of Dallas, or his relationship to the victims.

Franks says gunfire was reported Wednesday night at a Dallas home and during a related incident minutes later at a residence in DeSoto.

Dallas police say two victims at the first crime scene died and two survived. Conditions on the survivors weren't available.

Franks says two people were then shot to death in DeSoto and two children survived. Boys ages 11 and 13 were wounded. Franks had no details on their conditions.
