CUMMING - A hearing will be held Thursday in Forsyth County Superior Court on a suit filed by the state attorney general against Cumming Mayor H. Ford Gravitt.

Visiting judge Robert W. Adamson of Winder has scheduled the hearing at the Forsyth County Courthouse at 9:00.

The suit was filed last year after Nydia Tisdale of Cumming complained that Gravitt ordered her to stop making a video recording of an April 2012 city council meeting and had her forcibly removed from the meeting room. (See link below.)

The suit alleges violations of the state's open meetings law, which says visual and sound recordings are allowed during open meetings.

The City of Cumming filed its response to the lawsuit last July, denying a large number of allegations made against Mayor Gravitt.
