Superintendent Dr. Richard Behrens signed the Dual Enrollment Agreement with Lanier Technical College President, Dr. Ray Perren, at the Mountain Education Center Central Office in Cleveland on July 10, 2013.
Also attending the signing were Dr. Sheri Hardin, Curriculum Director; Tracy Sanford, Site Director; Debbie Day-Lewis, Student Services Director; Pam Smith, Assistant Student Services Director, all from MECHS, and Jeff Fitzpatrick, Lanier Technical College High School Coordinator.
The agreement will offer courses in Welding and Joining Technology, Cosmetology and Nurse Aide to the students at no additional cost.
"This is a great opportunity for us to help students meet the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI)," said Superintendent Behrens. "This agreement is a win-win."
Dual enrollment programs allow students to take high school courses and receive college credit.
Dr. Behrens looks on as Dr. Perren signs the agreement.
