GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Lottery launched its 20th anniversary celebration last week and lottery officials say it has produced 17 "million dollar winners" from Hall County since the games began.

The amount of the individual prizes range from one million dollars (10 of them) to $7 million.

The $7 million prize was handed to Cody Locantro of Gainesville just last November. He is the latest Hall County Georgia Lottery millionaire. The first, according to lottery officials, was Francisco Covarrubias, also of Gainesville, who won his big prize, $3.4 million, in 1993 - the first year of the lottery.

Twelve of the other "million dollar winners" from Hall County are from Gainesville, three are from Flowery Branch and one is from Lula.
