Gainesville alters garbage, recycling pickups for the 4th; no change in county trash collection

GAINESVILLE - City of Gainesville recycling and garbage routes will not be run Thursday because of the July 4 holiday. Thursday pickup will take place Friday, according to city officials.

Hall County officials, meanwhile, said the landfill will close for the day. Trash compactor sites will remain open on Thursday.

They also issued a reminder that many county services will, as always, be available online, even though most county employees will have the day off. Among the online services offered by the county are tag renewals and tax payments. Others are listed on the county's website, hallcounty.org.
