Tyler Smiley joins Lakewood missions ministry

GAINESVILLE - Tyler H. Smiley has joined the missions ministry of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville as its associate missions pastor.

A native of Pickens County, Smiley graduated from North Hall High in 2005 and earned a bachelor's degree from North Georgia College and State University (now the University of North Georgia) in 2010. In May, he earned a Master of
Divinity degree from the Denver Theological Seminary in Colorado.

While in college and in seminary, Smiley served as a ministry intern, guest speaker, interim youth pastor and interim pastor at various churches in Colorado. He is married to the former Catie Coker. They each are trained and certified in "Prepare & Enrich" marriage counseling.

Tyler is the son of Lakewood's senior pastor, Dr. Tom Smiley.
