Brenau U. Galleries hosting reception June 27 for summer exhibitions

GAINESVILLE - Brenau University Galleries will host a reception Thursday, June 27 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. to celebrate the summer exhibitions "The Good Wife" and "Brenau Family Ties". <br /> <br /> "The Good Wife" explores the changing persona of "the wife" throughout the years with garments and accessories from the Brenau Historic Clothing Collection, and "Brenau Family Ties" showcases select Brenau Student Purchase Awards in the Brenau University Permanent Art Collection. <br /> <br /> The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Leo Castelli Gallery in the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts in "The Good Wife" exhibition. Lori Gann-Smith, Associate Professor of Fashion Design, will give a brief talk around 6:00, discussing the many roles of women represented in the exhibition. <br /> <br /> Following the talk, the reception will move to Presidents Gallery in Simmons Visual Arts Center for the "Brenau Family Ties" exhibition.
