BRASELTON - The first piece of structural steel went up this week on the site of the future Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton.

The crane that will be used in erecting the steel was moved onto the site a week ago.

According to the construction manager, there are 2,280 more tons of steel that need to be assembled.

The 100-bed, $200 million hospital is being built near Braselton off Thompson Mill Road near Highway 211.
