Georgia DOT begins overnight work in Winder

WINDER - The Georgia Department of Transportation begins overnight roadwork in Winder Tuesday night, closing one lane on State Road 11/Broad Street.

The road is recieving new water and sewer lines. Construction begins at 9 pm and continues until 6 am the next morning.

The construction continues Wednesday night at 9 pm and finishes on Thursday morning at 6 am.

The construction is a single lane closure from Stephens Street to Midland Street.

Retaining walls are placed on the eastern side of SR11/Broad St in front of Loco's Restaurant, Skip's Hawiian Ice and American Pest Control.

This project is part of a larger project in Winder that will build the SR 11 from the ground up and create a longer lasting road. The larger project's end date is July 31, 2014.
