GAINESVILLE - The city of Gainesville is moving ahead with a plan to consider a new convention center and hotel project.

At a work session last week, city council members took a look at a resolution for hiring a consulting firm that will conduct a feasibility study. Tuesday night, council approved the hiring of Key Advisors, Inc. and Bleakley Advisory Group to conduct the study.

The $25,000 fee for the study will come from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
