GAINESVILLE -- The 31st Yamaha Georgia Senior Open contested at the Chattahoochee Golf Club saw PGA teaching professional Craig Stevens of Brookstone Golf & Country Club, post a six-under par 66 for a two-day total 136 to capture the championship by one shot over fellow PGA professional Danny Elkins. With the victory, Stevens took home the $1,500 first place check.
Stevens entered the day tied with PGA Director of Golf Stephen Keppler of Marietta Country Club, both two shots behind first round leader and Champions Tour member James Mason.
Stevens carded seven birdies on the day, none bigger than on the 18th hole. After a lone bogey on the 17th, Stevens fell to 7
