BLACKSHEAR -- East Hall kept the flag flying high indeed for area boys soccer teams and made history in the process on Saturday.

The Vikings traveled to Blackshear and took out Pierce County 4-1 to advance to a state semifinal for the first time in program history.

Fourth-ranked East Hall (13-3-1) -- which has won three straight road playoff games so far -- will go back on the road on Wednesday, heading to College Park to take on defending Class AAA champion Woodward Academy.

The Vikings would certainly love a repeat of Saturday's success in the "Final Four."

East Hall controlled the game in the quarterfinal round, using two strikes from Nestor Soto and one each from Julio Avila and Adolfo Adame to pull away. Leo Toledo also recorded two assists and Diego Porras had one assist.

Emmanuel Andrade had four saves in goal for the Vikings.

Game time for Wednesday's semifinal is still to be determined.
