Gwinnett math teacher charged with sexual assault

LAWRENCEVILLE - A math teacher from Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville is in jail without bond on a sexual assault charge for what authorities say was an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Thomas Grimshaw, who had been with the Gwinnett County School System since 2006, resigned Monday before his arrest on Tuesday.

The Gwinnett County School System has not released many details about the case, since the investigation is ongoing.

A police report indicated that video footage and text messages had been confiscated by school resource officers and turned over to the Gwinnett County Police Department for use in their investigation.
