LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Joey Terdoslavich's RBI single in the top of the ninth inning was all the G-Braves pitching staff needed, as the Gwinnett Braves edged the Louisville Bats 1-0 on Thursday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Both pitching staffs held the offense's down.

The G-Braves (11-11) had a chance to break the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth. With one out and Ernesto Mejia on second base, Joe Leonard singled to center, but Mejia was tagged out at the plate on a great throw from Bats' centerfielder Billy Hamilton.

Louisville's best chance to get on the board came in the bottom of the eighth. Braves' reliever Wirfin Obispo walked Hamilton to lead off the inning, Hamilton, who swiped a record 155 bases in the minors last season, promptly stole second. A balk by Obispo moved Hamilton to third with one out. With the infield pulled in, Braves' shortstop Luis Nunez fielded a ground ball hit by Henry Rodriguez and threw out Hamilton at home, keeping it 0-0.

That prompted Terdoslavich's heroics in the top of the ninth. Todd Cunningham led off with a bunt single and moved to second on a passed ball. With one out, Terdoslavich delivered the game winner, a line drive to left, scoring Cunningham from second.

It was another great pitching performance by the Gwinnett staff. Lefty Daniel Rodriguez hurled another quality start for the G-Braves, going 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, walking three and striking out eight. Cory Rasmus (S, 4) pitched a scoreless ninth with one strikeout for his fourth save of the season.

Louisville starter Chad Reineke pitched well, but he did not factor in the decision. The righthander worked 7.0 scoreless innings, allowing five hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Partch (L, 0-1) suffered the loss, as he allowed one run in two innings of work.

The game winner by Terdoslavich was one of this two hits, as he finished 2-for-4 on the night. Earlier in the game, he picked up his International League leading 12th double of the season. Corey Wimberly, Jose Constanza, Cunningham, Mejia and Leonard each had one hit.

The Bats (10-11) could only muster three singles on the night, two of which came in the second inning.

The final game of the four game series in Louisville is set for Friday night at 6:35. LHP Sean Gilmartin (1-0, 2.86) will get his fifth start of the season for Gwinnett. The Bats will pitch RHP Armando Galarraga (1-1, 1.88). Tony Schiavone will have the call on WDUN AM 550/FM 102.9.
