GHS senior receives one of 1,000 full college scholarships

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville High School senior Alex Longoria has been selected as a Gates Millennium Scholar.

There are 1,000 awards designated nationwide for this prestigious honor.

As a Gates Millennium Scholar, Longoria receives a full scholarship to attend any U.S.- located, accredited college or university. The scholarship is renewable annually based on the Gates Scholar guidelines.

The Gates Millennium Scholars program also offers leadership development courses and a wide range of resources for the recipients.
