Baseball: Carpenter tosses no-hitter to lead Dragons past rival Commerce

JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson baseball team closed out its regular season with a 7-0 win over arch-rival Commerce Wednesday.

Micah Carpenter pitched a no-hitter and fanned 10 on the mound for the Dragons (23-2) who pushed their win streak to 14 games.

Carpenter and Jacob Page each had two hits for Jefferson, which pounded out 12 for the game off two Commerce pitchers.

Drew Carson had two-run home run for the Dragons, who are the Region 8-AA champs and will open the Class AA playoffs at home next week.
