LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- The North Georgia women's softball team remained third this week in the Southeast Region rankings as the top three spots did not change with No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic State University still first and 14th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University second.

The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Division II Regional in two weeks with three of those slots being automatic bids awarded to the winners of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and Conference Carolinas tournaments.

The top two teams in the region rankings will have the opportunity to host half of the eight-team field for the Southeast Region, an honor the Saints have had for the last four years. Lenoir-Rhyne is one of three teams in the rankings that have a guaranteed spot in the regional tournament after winning the SAC tournament title last weekend with a 5-1 record.

Mount Olive, which moved up from eighth to fifth in the most recent poll, claimed the Conference Carolinas crown to earn that berth while 16th-ranked Columbus State University earned the Peach Belt Conference's (PBC) automatic bid with their second consecutive PBC Tournament title last weekend that saw them go 3-0.

24th-ranked Georgia College fell from fourth to seventh in the region poll while Anderson University dropped one spot from fifth to sixth. Wingate University, which was ninth in last week's region poll, rounded out the top-eight in eighth. Flagler College dropped from seventh to ninth and Catawba held steady at 10th.
