Soccer: Chestatee girls rally past Stephens

TOCCOA -- The Chestatee girls soccer set the stage for a possible battle for the Region 8-AAAA title with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Stephens County Tuesday night on the road.

The Lady War Eagles (10-3-2, 7-0-0 Region 8-AAAA) fwell behind quickly on a goal by the Lady Indians' Cassady Fulbright

Chestatee would answer in the 26th minute of the first half on a goal by Alexis Rebollar, which was set up on a long pass by Hope Baxter to tie the game.

Mary Ashley Easterwood would find the net late in the first half to give the Lady War Eagles a 2-1 lead.

Rebollar would put the game away midway through the second half with a penalty kick goal for her 79th career goal.

Chestatee outshot the Lady Indians 14-3. It was the first region loss for Stephens County (8-3-0, 6-1-0), which closes out the regular season with games against Johnson and Lanier.

Chestatee travels to Lanier (10-5-0, 6-0-0) on Friday for what could be the battle for the region title.
