Tennis: Elephants nip Flowery Branch

GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville's Graham McKinnon rallied from a set down at No. 3 singles to lift Gainesville to 3-2 win over Flowery Branch Thursday in Region 8-AAAAA ac action.

McKinnon dropped the first set 6-2 but rallied to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the team win.

Gainesville got the first win when Alec Zais and Reagan Williams took a a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. the Flowery Branch No. 2 doubles team beat Charles Calkins and Nick Dillard 6-3, 6-1 to tie the match. Jackson Goble at No. 2 singles reclaimed the lead for Gainesville with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win.

The Elephants' Billy Jackson lost at No. 3 singles to even the match for the Falcons.

Gainesville improved to a perfect 7-0 on the season in region play with the win.who moved to 7-0 in region 8-5a.
