GAINESVILLE - The North Georgia Community Foundation's (NGCF's) second Lunch & Learn, which is scheduled for April 18, will cover communications and public relations for non-profits.

The program is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Georgia Community Foundation office on Oak St. in Gainesville. The cost is $20 and includes a boxed lunch and drinks. The deadline to register is noon on April 15.

The Lunch & Learn series focuses on current issues facing non-profit organizations and also offers networking opportunities for non-profit leaders.

Laura D. Reilly will present the program "Truth or Dare: Your Image in the Balance." This session will cover the dangers of leaving communications and public relations programming to chance. It is designed for communications and marketing staff, board members, executive directors, and non-profit managers, and will offer tips and other resources for non-profits to use in developing a communications plan.

Reilly will focus on how non-profit leaders can maintain relationships with the media and leverage good relationships with members and other stakeholders to ensure that they are ambassadors of good will when crisis occurs.

Reilly is a strategic communications consultant with 26 years of experience in corporate, public school and non-profit communications. Before starting Reilly Arts and Letters Inc. in 2012, Reilly worked for 16 years with the Georgia School Boards Association providing public relations services for the association, and assisting school boards with community relations.

To register contact North Georgia Community Foundation Vice President for Programs Callie Flack at (770) 535-7880, ext. 226 or [email protected]. The remaining Learn & Learns are scheduled for June 20, Aug. 15 and Oct. 17. Each session will feature a different topic and speaker.
