Public health employees' TB awareness walk

GAINESVILLE - Several District 2 Public Health employees from Gainesville recently participated in a walk to raise awareness about tuberculosis.

They wore fluorescent green shirts to represent the color of the acid-fast bacillus (AFB) smear test used to identify tuberculosis infection. The walk recognized World TB Day, a day established to raise awareness and highlight the advances made in the fight against tuberculosis.
