Soccer: No. 9 Lady Panthers shut out Chestatee

JEFFERSON -- Class AAAA ninth-ranked Chestatee suffered a 6-0 defeat to Jackson County on Tuesday in girls soccer action.

Jackson County's Katie Phillips had a huge game for the Lady Panthers scoring five goals, including a hat trick in the second half.

Phillips connected on two late first half goals to give Jackson County a 2-0 halftime lead.

Phillips could not be stopped in the second half as she connected on three more. Sydney Baird also had a goal for the Lady Panthers.

Vic Fontana recorded the shutout in goal for Jackson County (7-1-0).

Chestatee had opportunites early in the first half but did not convert shots into points.

Chestatee (7-3-0) next will play host to Johnson in a Region 8-AAAA match on Friday.
