Baseball: Jefferson pounds out big win over East Jackson

COMMERCE -- Jacob Page and Taylor Wilkes combined on a three-hitter to lead Jefferson to 16-1, five-inning victory over East Jackson Thursday in baseball action.

The Dragons (3-1) pounded out 12 hits against two East Jackson pitchers. Max Ford, Ethan Garner, Micah Carpenter, and Andy Nicholas each had two hits and two RBI for Jefferson. Tyler Cole had two RBI on a sacrifice fly and a being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Drew Carson, Hanon Price, Trent Sorrells, and Alex Gaba all had one hit apiece for Jefferson.

Jefferson scored three runs in the first, one in the second, and blew the game open with four runs in the fourth and eight in the fifth.

Austin Johnson, Trey Mines, and Ty Smith each had one hit for East Jackson. Johnson would score East Jackson's only run on a passed ball in the first.

Jefferson next will travel to Elbert County on Friday.
