The Machine Tool Technology program at Lanier Tech prepares students for careers in the machine tool technology field. Under the direction of Program Director Jim Mealor, it emphasizes a combination of machine tool theory and practical application necessary for successful employment.
"We are so thankful to have a partner like Nordson Corporation to help our Machine Tool Technology program continue to thrive," Mealor said. "It is through these partnerships that we are able to maintain the quality of our students that we send into the workforce. We feel like this is a win-win for both Lanier Technical College and Nordson. Their generosity will help operate our program throughout the year."
Currently there are 54 students enrolled in Machine Tool and CNC Technology programs. An Associate's Degree in Machine Tool Technology will be offered beginning in the fall of 2013.
