McFarlin is NGTC's Rick Perkins Award Winner; Scott wins GOAL scholarship award

CLARKESVILLE - Leslie McFarlin, Mathematics Instructor at North Georgia Technical College, is the Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Education Winner for 2013.<br />
<br />
The Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction has been an ongoing statewide event since 1991, and is designed to recognize technical college instructors who make significant contributions to technical education through innovation and leadership in their fields.<br />

GOAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD<br />
<br />
Kemberely Scott of Martin, a Horticulture student at North Georgia Technical College, has been named as the 2013 winner of the NGTC Foundation's Marlowe-Evans GOAL Scholarship.<br />
<br />
GOAL (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership), a statewide program of the Technical College System of Georgia, honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state's technical college students. <br />
<br />
The Scholarship, founded in 2005 by Jim Marlowe and Bob Evans, is given to one of the 12 GOAL semi-finalists at NGTC who exemplifies the spirit of Bob Evans and Jim Marlowe through their community service and willingness to help others.
