OAKWOOD - Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) kicked off the celebration of 40 years in Christian education Saturday with over 200 alumni, teachers and friends.

Maranatha Christian Academy was established in 1973 as a ministry of Maranatha Baptist Church in Oakwood.

The church's pastor, Rod Bell, says the school is "growing stronger every year and exciting plans are being made for technology enhancement in the class where every student 6th through 12th grade will be receiving their own Ipads next school year."
