The honorees included first-team selection Esther Anyanwu from Lagos, Nigeria, who also won first-team recognition on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire All-America team for her outstanding season. The Southern States Athletic Conference previously honored Anyanwu as its Player of the Year.
Also, Linda Chukwuji, also from Lagos, received second-team All-American honors on both the NAIA and NSCAA/Continental Tire teams.
And, Golden Tigers Tori Brown from Windermere, Fla., and Elizabeth Campbell from Richmond Hill, Ga., won third-team accolades from the NAIA.
Anyanwu was the only SSAC player named as either NAIA or NSCAA All-American first teams. The senior forward led the Golden Tigers in scoring and points. She was the national leader in total goals scored. Anyanwu was selected to the third team in 2012 for both the NAIA and NSCAA.
Both she and Chukwuji previously received All-American honors as junior college players before coming to Brenau. And, like her teammate, Chukwuji also bettered her 2012 performance
