Friends of Unicoi will hold their first Polar Bear Plunge from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 28, at Unicoi Lake north of Helen.
Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m., with the Plunge at 11 a.m. on the beach. There will be a Plunger safety meeting at 10:30 a.m.
Each participant will receive a commemorative patch at the event, which will be held rain or shine.
Cost to participate in the event is $10 per person or $25 per family, with all proceeds benefiting Unicoi State Park and Friends of Unicoi.
