Lakeview thespians last qualified for the State finals eight years ago and came in second.
Lakeview students won the region competition at Piedmont College on October 28, awarding Lakeview the right to represent Region 8-A with their version of The Wedding Singer at State Competition.
Lakeview won the state title with a unanimous decision by the judges with
scores of 97, 97 and 99.
Senior Eli Bennett was awarded Best Actor (he also won best actor at region in 2012 and 2013) and sophomore Georgia Whitehead was named Best Actress in State. Senior Casandra Chesneau and junior Addison Hicks were named to the All-Star cast.
