Bill Ward, former Hall Co. commissioner, dies

GAINEVILLE - A former member of the Hall County Board of Commissioners has died.

Bill Ward died Wednesday after a period of declining health. He was 87.

Ward, who lived in Gillsville, had worked at Slack Auto Parts in Gainesville and then retired from A&L Welding after working there for a number of years where he was a supervisor/manager.

He served as a county commissioner from 1977 until 1979.

The funeral will be at 10:00 Saturday in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville.
