GAINESVILLE - A high school bass fishing tournament will be held on Lake Lanier Saturday at Laurel Park.

The tournament is open to any high or middle school student. Organizers say about ten boats from Hall County will be participating, representing East Hall, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, North Hall and West Hall high schools plus another "15 or more" from around Georgia.

By hosting this tournament, the East Hall Anglers Club's primary goal is to help grow the sport of high school bass fishing (especially in the Hall County area) and bring to light some of the opportunities available to high school anglers.

The youth director for BASS High School Nation, Roy Mims, will be bringing some boats up and information will be distributed regarding his 2014 BASS High School Tournament Trail.
